Prayer During Pandemic

O God, whose Only Begotten Son bore the weight of human suffering for our salvation,
hear the prayers of your Church for our sick brothers and sisters and deliver us from this time of trial.

Open our ears and our hearts to the voice of your Son: Be not afraid, for I am with you always.

Bless all doctors and nurses, researchers and public servants;
give us the wisdom to do what is right and the faith to endure this hour,
that we might gather once again to praise your name in the heart of your Church,
delivered from all distress and confident in your mercy.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

A Novena of Grace and Solidarity

God our Father, as St. Francis Xavier and countless of your missionaries traveled to the ends of the earth,
impelled by the love of Jesus Christ, give me the grace to rely entirely on you,
confident in the knowledge that you raise up the humble and the lowly.
May I be united with your saints in offering you my humble tribute of thanksgiving and praise.
I implore you to grant me, through your mercy, the blessing of living and dying in a state of grace.
I also ask this same blessing for all those throughout the world who suffer persecution because of their faith in you.
O God, you were pleased to gather to your Church the peoples of the world by the preaching and miracles of all your saints;
mercifully grant that I may imitate their virtues and so bear witness to the Gospel of your Son, Jesus Christ,
who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.

Knight’s Prayer

Our Lady, Queen of the Knights, bless all the activities of our Order.
Keep us true to our pledge, to extend the kingship of thy divine son on earth.
Through Thine intercession, win for us the grace, ever to exemplify in our public and private lives,
the virtues that should characterize those especially dedicated to the service of the heavenly court.
Make us always aware that as your Knights, we are constantly observed, our faith judged, and our Order appreciated.
Accept, O Mary, this renewed pledge of fealty and devotion, of Thy Servants, the Knights of Columbus. Amen.

The Knight’s Prayer

Bless the Knights of Columbus.
Bless our activities and inspire us to work for the greater glory of God, and the salvation of mankind.
May the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.

Prayer of St. Augustine

Breathe into me, Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy.
Move in me, Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy.
Attract my heart, Holy Spirit, that I may love only what is holy.
Strengthen me, Holy Spirit, that I may defend all that is holy.
Protect me, Holy Spirit, that I may always be holy. Amen.

Prayer for the Sick

Father of goodness and love, hear our prayers for the sick members of our community and for all who are in need.
Amid mental and physical suffering may they find consolation in your healing presence.
Show your mercy as you close wounds, cure illness, make broken bodies whole and free downcast spirits.
May these special people find lasting health and deliverance, and so join us in thanking you for all your gifts.
We ask this through the Lord Jesus who healed those who believed. Amen.

Prayer For Seminarians

O Jesus, Eternal High Priest, I offer You through Your Immaculate Mother Mary, Your Own Precious Blood,
in all the Masses throughout the world, as petition for graces for all seminarians, Your future priests.
Give them humility, meekness, prudence, and a burning zeal for souls. Fill their hearts with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Teach them to know and love the Church, that they may always and everywhere speak, act, and think with her, the glorious spouse of Christ.
Teach them generosity and detachment from worldly goods; but above all, teach them to know You and to love the One and Only Eternal Priest.
Good Shepherd of Souls, hear this my prayer for saintly priests. Amen.

Thanks Thiago D., our prayers are with you

A Prayer For A Victim Of Accident Or Violence

Lord our God, you are always faithful and quick to show mercy.
Our brother/sister _________ was suddenly [and violently] taken from us.
Come swiftly to his/her aid, have mercy on him/her, and comfort his/her family and freinds
by the power and protection of the cross.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer To Heal a Friend

Think, O God, of our friend who is ill, whom we now commend to Your compassionate regard.
Comfort him upon his sickbed, and ease his suffering.
We beg for deliverance, and submit that no healing is too hard for the Lord, if it be His will.
We therefore pray that You bless our friend with Your loving care, renew his strength, and heal what ails him in Your loving name. Thank You, Lord. Amen.

Prayer for a Happy Death

O God, great and omnipotent judge of the living and the dead,
we are to appear before You after this short life to render an account of our works.
Give us the grace to prepare for our last hour by a devout and holy life, and
protect us against a sudden and unprovided death. Let us remember our frailty and mortality,
that we may always live in the ways of Your commandments. Teach us to "watch and pray" (Luke 21, 36),
that when Your summons comes for our departure from this world, we may go forth to meet You,
experience a merciful judgment, and rejoice in everlasting happiness. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for Employment

God, our Father, I turn to you seeking your divine help and guidance as I look for suitable employment.
I need your wisdom to guide my footsteps along the right path, and to lead me to find the proper things to say and do in this quest.
I wish to use the gifts and talents you have given me, but I need the opportunity to do so with gainful employment.
Do not abandon me, dear Father, in this search, but rather grant me this favor I seek so that
I may return to you with praise and thanksgiving for your gracious assistance.
Grant this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

A Prayer During Difficult Financial Times

Gracious God, We know that your love is infinite and that you care about all areas of our life.
In this time of economic insecurity, help us to trust that all of our security is in you.
Keep us mindful that you always have and always will provide for our needs.
Apart from you we can do nothing.

Merciful God, We ask that you give our leaders the wisdom to guide our nation and the world out of the current economic crisis.
Help us to protect the poor and all those who are struggling during this difficult time. Provide for their needs and give them hope.
Open new opportunities for them and furnish the resources they need to live with dignity.
Encourage those who have enough to share essential resources with those who lack the necessities of life,
and to do so with humble, grateful and loving hearts.

We ask this through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Thanks for Family and Friends

Blessed are You, loving Father, For all your gifts to us. Blessed are You for giving us family and friends
To be with us in times of joy and sorrow, To help us in days of need, And to rejoice with us in moments of celebration.
Father, We praise You for Your Son Jesus, Who knew the happiness of family and friends,
And in the love of Your Holy Spirit. Blessed are you for ever and ever. Amen.

Prayer for Our Country

Almighty God, bless our nation and make it true to the ideas of freedom and justice and brotherhood for all who make it great.
Guard us from war, from fire and wind, from compromise, fear, confusion.
Be close to our president and our statesmen; give them vision and courage, as they ponder decisions affecting peace and the future of the world.
Make me more deeply aware of my heritage; realizing not only my rights but also my duties and responsibilities as a citizen.
Make this great land and all its people know clearly Your will, that they may fulfill the destiny ordained for us in the salvation of the nations,
and the restoring of all things in Christ. Amen.

A Prayer For Families

We bless your name, O Lord, for sending your own incarnate Son, to become part of a family, so that, as he lived its life,
he would experience its worries and its joys.

We ask you, Lord, to protect and watch over this family, so that in the strength of your grace
its members may enjoy prosperity, possess the priceless gift of your peace, and, as the Church alive in the home,
bear witness in this world to your glory.

We ask this thought Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer to End Abortion

Lord God, I thank you today for the gift of my life, And for the lives of all my brothers and sisters.
I know there is nothing that destroys more life than abortion, Yet I rejoice that you have conquered death by the Resurrection of Your Son.
I am ready to do my part in ending abortion. Today I commit myself Never to be silent, Never to be passive, Never to be forgetful of the unborn.
I commit myself to be active in the pro-life movement, And never to stop defending life
Until all my brothers and sisters are protected, And our nation once again becomes
A nation with liberty and justice Not just for some, but for all.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Grace Before Meals

Bless us, O Lord, and these, Thy gifts, which we are about to receive from Thy bounty. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Irish Blessing

May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
